Fred on the porch of his home on Josephine, Detroit

music : "She Broke His Heart" - The Just Brothers (Empire)

I am indebted to Fred for giving me three face to face interviews and two personal trips around his old haunts in Detroit. He also responded to over 100 e-mails and gave a great deal of thought to each and every question. Many thanks.

And what of the rich vein of music which Fred and his contemporaries delivered during those halcyon days?

Well, perhaps this essay by the late Dave Godin says it all.

Note the credits on the 45 are wrong. They should read Fred Bridges and Richard Beasley.
