music: "A
Letter From Vietnam" - Emanuel Laskey (Westbound

There was still a considerable amount of work to
be done in the building, but it was decided that
the studio was basically ready and on February
10th 1968, Studio B had it's first session.
It was a string session for Sussex Productions,
with Mike Theodore and Dennis Coffey producing.
From what I remember, things went well but
immediately after the session Milan told me he
needed to shut it down again.
The cue system still needed some work. Meanwhile
the studio had gotten heavily booked, so we had
a lot of re-arranging to do.
I should say a word here about Milan Bogdan.
Milan is a technical wizard, besides being a
great recording engineer. If Milan wasn't happy
about something then he would change it.
Definitely a perfectionist. So when you have a
perfectionist working for you, you let him act
like a
perfectionist.
A personal note here...in the reviewing of all
this information regarding the building of
Studio B it has just really hit me what we did
there in a relatively short period of time.
We converted a deserted bank building into a
complex recording studio. The amount of work
that was done to accomplish this blows my mind.
Like I said earlier...I had great people working
for me.
